We are told that robots are becoming more human-like and will take on our characteristics.
We see them as perfect and performing flawlessly compared to us broken down humans. It is enough to give a person a complex. I can see a new branch of counseling – to help us handle the takeover by robots. It is becoming such an interesting topic, Bill Gates recently mentioned that we should tax robots like human workers.
But, if they are taking human characteristics, what does that mean?
Will the robots work slow one morning after the spending the night before drinking the wrong oil beverages?
Will the robots linger at the coffee pot and gossip with other robots? I can see one robot having eyes for another robot and holding boom arms behind the pallets of supplies.
Of course, this will require an RR (Robot Relations) department where there are standards and rules for robots. A whole new set of performance reviews, attendance reports, goal setting, and mandatory classes the robots will have to attend.
Will robots start sleeping in and miss the bus on the way to work? Will it be considered the robot has abandonded their job if they don’t show up for three consecutive days without notification?
There are so many bad habits we have, the robots are going to be busy learning how to be like us.
It’s going to be a whole brave new world!
