All of us have been fixated on the news of Hurricane Harvey and the unbelievable destruction.

It is also wonderfully unbelievable how people have come together to help each other.  It is very moving

It is very moving.

It is also heartening the government aid and private donations pouring in for these victims.

However, in the future, after the Harvey leaves the headlines, some significant problems will still be there.

Some people won’t be able to return to work because streets are impassible or family members are going to need to be cared for.

Others won’t have a job to go back to.  Their company may be shut down for some time or possibly out of business forever.

After the government and private aid runs out, these people are going to need work.  They may need to work remotely as they cannot or will not move for family reasons.

This is a fantastic chance for business to help themselves and these people who have suffered so much.

How about targeting these areas to obtain employees under permanent or contract status to work in a variety of different positions?

I doubt the corporation would get a more positive PR benefit than starting a program of recruiting people from this devastated area.

These people may not have the direct skills in a particular business but they can be trained to be customer service representatives, junior positions that can be trained, or there may be a whole host of experienced people available.

This is a win-win…companies get good workers and help out these stricken communities.
